About the Client:
The Ife Book and Arts Festival is an annual event dedicated to celebrating Africa’s rich and diverse culture through books and arts. The festival aims to revive the declining reading culture, promote speaking and writing in indigenous languages, and provide a platform for book and arts enthusiasts to exhibit their works. The inaugural edition is scheduled to take place from December 5th to 12th, 2025, in Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

What I Did:

  • Designed and developed a custom WordPress website to reflect the festival’s commitment to celebrating African culture through books and arts.

  • Created a professional homepage that communicates the festival’s theme: “Return to the Roots.”

  • Developed clear navigation sections: About, Festival Experience, Participation & Registration, and Contact.

  • Highlighted the festival’s activities, including:

    • Musical performances & film screenings

    • Book readings & art exhibitions

    • Publishers’ forums & panel discussions

    • Book presentations & cultural exhibitions

    • Green festival & mentoring programs

  • Featured the festival’s legacy, tracing its roots back to the Ife International Book Fair initiated in 1976, and its revival as the Ife Book and Arts Festival.

  • Ensured the website is responsive and user-friendly across all devices.

Result / Impact:

  • A polished, authoritative online presence that aligns with the festival’s mission to celebrate African culture.

  • Improved clarity for prospective participants and attendees: it’s immediately clear what the festival offers, how to participate, and how to engage.

  • Enhanced visibility and credibility within the literary and arts community in Nigeria and beyond.
